5 Best Road Trips From Bengaluru

Living in Bengaluru can sometimes feel like you are stuck in a never-ending loop. Between college, work, heavy traffic and deadlines seeing the Bengaluru roads every single day can really tire you out.. One great thing about Bengaluru is that you do not have to go very far to find a break.

You can drive for a few hours to reach beautiful hills, coffee plantations, forests, waterfalls, beaches or peaceful little towns. This is why Bengaluru is such a great starting point for road trips.

A road trip is not about getting to your destination. A road trip is about enjoying the drive stopping at a roadside café listening to your favorite songs taking random pictures and making memories along the way.

If you are planning a trip, from Bengaluru here are 5 road trips that are definitely worth trying.

1. Bengaluru to Coorg – A Peaceful Escape into the Hills

If I had to pick one of the most relaxing road trips from Bengaluru, Coorg would certainly be included on my list.

Coorg, which is also called Kodagu, is well known for its green hills, its coffee plantations, the waterfalls, the forests and the cool climate. It lies about 260 to 270 km from Bengaluru and the journey usually lasts approximately 5 to 6 hours, the length of time depending on traffic and the number of stops you decide to make.

What's best is that the journey becomes more exciting the further you get from the city; the busy roads of Bengaluru gradually give way to highways, then to green fields, small towns, and finally to the beautiful hills of Coorg.

Things to see in Coorg:

  • Abbey Falls
